History

		In 1908 my great grand parents Benedikt and Katharina Gassner bought the Gasthof* Zinkenbach 7, which lay directly on the track of the Salzkammergut local railway. At this time there was also a train stop here.
In 1946 my grandparents Franz and Maria Gassner took over the pension and the Gasthof Gassner. During this time the number of rooms was increased to 11.
		In 1969 the guest house was opened directly next to the inn.
In 1977 my parents Franz and Helga Gassner took over the business and in 1980 they opened the Aberseehof.

In 1979 the rebuilding of the Aberseehof began. The opening was on 10th September 1980 and my mother took over the kitchen and laundry and my father the restaurant and reception.

In 1991 we bought the piece of land in front of our hotel so we can keep the mountain view over the Salzkammergut mountains.

In 2004 the family business became the Aberseehof Gassner GmbH and since then Franz Gassner jun. has been the managing director of the Gasthof-Hotel Aberseehof.

We ensure that the old traditions are continued but also like to combine them with new and innovative ideas so we can offer our guests a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
